Curriculum

Bachelor Cycle (Years 1–3): Game Art & Design fundamentals

Year 1 – Game creation foundations (60 ECTS)

Creativity meets technology. Students begin with drawing fundamentals, visual composition, and colour theory, while learning the basics of gameplay design and prototyping.
Hands-on workshops introduce industry tools such as Photoshop, Substance Painter, Maya, Zbrush, and Unreal Engine.
Students learn how to design characters, environments, and interactive prototypes — gaining insight into professional production workflows.

Year 2 – Creation and Collaboration (60 ECTS)

This year focuses on real-time creation and team-based collaboration.
Students refine their skills in 2D/3D modelling, lighting, and game mechanics, working alongside engineers and developers to design playable experiences.
They collaborate across disciplines (animation, sound, VFX), developing a deeper understanding of production roles, pipelines, and creative teamwork.

Year 3 – Advanced production skills (60 ECTS)

Students consolidate their knowledge through collective projects that simulate professional production.
They design interactive environments, manage visual coherence, and supervise each stage of development: graphics, user interfaces, VFX, and gameplay design.
By the end of this year, students produce a fully playable demo and prepare to specialize at the master’s level.

Master Cycle (Years 4–5): Specialization & Industry integration

Year 4 – Pre-production and Specialization (60 ECTS)

Students choose a specialization aligned with industry professions such as Character Artist, Game Designer, Environment Artist, Rigger, or Level Designer.
They take leadership roles in production teams and develop a Game Design Document (GDD), a visual bible, and a first playable prototype of their final project.
This stage validates the gameplay mechanics, artistic direction, and visual consistency, all evaluated by a professional jury.

Year 5 – Production and Professional experience (60 ECTS)

The final year focuses on production and post-production of the graduation game, integrating sound design and interactive media.
Students refine their specialization, build a professional portfolio, and gain real-world experience through a 3–6 month internship or their first industry contract.
A final jury presentation and career workshops (CV, portfolio, interview prep, LinkedIn coaching) ensure graduates are ready for the job market.

Projects

  • A multidisciplinary program covering design, programming, art, and production
  • Fully on-campus learning with access to professional hardware and software
  • Practical projects and workshops throughout the 5 years
  • Training in emerging technologies such as VR and AR
  • Supervision by industry professionals (artists, developers, project leads)
  • A dedicated Career Path program (“Parcours Pro”) supporting employability
  • Regular masterclasses and networking opportunities with partner studios

Throughout the program, students design and produce original video games in real studio conditions — from concept and prototyping to full production. Working in multidisciplinary teams, they create playable demos and a final graduation game presented before a professional jury. Each graduate leaves with a strong portfolio, a demo reel, and real industry experience.

Students train on the software and engines used in leading game studios:
Unity, Unreal Engine, Houdini, Blender, Maya, Substance Painter, Zbrush, Photoshop, and Nuke. They also gain experience with AR/VR tools, motion capture, and sound integration pipelines.
