Taught entirely in English, the 3iS BA Film & TV is a three-year film and television degree for French and international students who want to study filmmaking in France. Based at 3iS Paris West, the program combines hands-on filmmaking, collaborative productions and progressive specialization in Cinematography, Editing or Production.
From your first year, you will take part in shoots, develop projects within international teams and learn alongside industry professionals. Over three years, you will build the creative, technical and professional skills needed to begin a career in film and television.

Over three years, the BA Film & TV takes you from the fundamentals of filmmaking to professional-level practice in Cinematography, Editing or Production.
You learn filmmaking by making films. From the very first year, our students shoot, edit and produce together. They explore the different roles within a production before choosing their specialization and, project after project, learn how to work as a real film crew. All of this takes place in English, within an international cohort.

In Year 1, students build the creative, technical and cultural foundations of filmmaking while exploring the main roles involved in a production. From the outset, learning is practical, with experience across writing, directing, cinematography, sound, editing and production.
In Year 2, students deepen their practical experience and begin to develop specialist professional skills. They choose a specialization and build their expertise through workshops, collaborative projects and productions across a range of formats.
CINEMATOGRAPHY
Develop your understanding of lighting, framing and camera work to shape the visual identity of a film.
EDITING
Give rhythm, coherence and emotional impact to a story through editing and post-production.
PRODUCTION
Learn how to plan, organize and coordinate a production from initial concept through to final delivery.
The third year marks the transition towards professional practice. Students apply their specialization to more advanced productions inspired by the formats, standards and working methods of film, television and new media.
The BA Film & TV is open to applicants who hold a French Baccalauréat or an equivalent international secondary school qualification. Applicants must also have sufficient English to follow a program taught entirely in English.
Creativity, curiosity, motivation and a strong interest in film and audiovisual production are key elements of the admissions process.
Application procedures vary depending on your nationality, country of residence and academic background. Some applicants may apply through Parcoursup, while international applicants may be required to follow Campus France procedures. Our Admissions team will guide you through the process that applies to your situation.
The main intake takes place each year in October.
A limited number of students may also join the program in the second semester through the Spring Intake, subject to academic approval. This intake is intended primarily for applicants who already have some experience in film, audiovisual production, media, photography, sound, writing or production. Admission is based on a review of the applicant’s background, any previous creative work and an interview.
An intensive catch-up program covering the essential skills taught during the first semester may be required.
At 3iS, hands-on experience is at the heart of our teaching approach. Throughout the three-year program, students write, produce, and direct a variety of films, working in teams and taking on different roles for each project. This collaborative, practical approach ensures students graduate with real-world experience and a professional portfolio.
