Our Master in Filmmaking is aimed at international students who are fluent in English and hold a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in cinema and audio-visual studies, or in another field but with a keen interest in artistic careers.
It trains students to a high level of competence in all aspects of cinema-related work: directing, writing, image and post-production. It enables them to develop both their creative vision and technical expertise.
At the end of this training, our graduates have the skills to design, present and deliver fictional projects, documentaries, advertisements and musical clips.
From their first year, students are trained in all areas of work (directing, writing, assisting the director, script, image, sound and editing); they each produce an audio-visual project, according to specifications defined by their course director or tutor, and manage a team made up of students from all other sectors.
During their second year, students will go through a professionalisation process. They will participate in the writing and shooting of a short fiction film in professional conditions. They also can choose to design a documentary project for which they write a full production file and produce a 5-minute teaser.
Students have the benefit of personalized, one-to-one instruction from a tutor working in the same field as they intend to work: director, scriptwriter, 1st assistant or camera operator. Individual monitoring of a personal project each year enables them to develop their professional project which forms the core element of their training. Tutors also monitor students’ overall progress.
In order to facilitate and consolidate learning, the Master in Filmmaking class has a restricted intake of 25 students.
